IET Control Theory & Applications is devoted to control systems in the broadest sense, covering new theoretical results and the applications of new and established control methods. Among the topics of interest are system modelling, identification and simulation, the analysis and design of control systems (including computer-aided design), and practical implementation. Compared with other typical disturbance observer‐based control methods, the advantages of the UDE‐based control are summarised as follows: (i) the designed UDE could achieve fast and accurate estimation of the uncertainty and disturbance without knowing their magnitude bounds, which only requires the frequency information (bandwidth) of disturbances; (ii) the UDE‐based control approaches possess the so‐called two‐degree‐of‐freedom nature , which could simultaneously achieve First, the convergence time of the finite‐time convergent non‐recursive HOSM differentiator is estimated for the first time. Second, the fixed‐time convergent recursive and non‐recursive higher‐order differentiator is studied and the estimates of their convergence (settling) times that do not depend on the initial conditions are provided for the first time.

An augmented Lyapunov functional is introduced to establish some improved delay-dependent stability criteria using a simple and alternative proving method.

IET Control Theory & Applications is devoted to control systems in the broadest sense, covering new theoretical results and the applications of new and established control methods. Among the topics of interest are system modelling, identification and simulation, the analysis and design of control systems (including computer-aided design), and practical implementation. Position control in manipulators , suppression of chaotic oscillations in electrical circuits , control of permanent magnetic synchronous motors [30, 31], control of power electronic buck converters and compensating state‐dependent periodic disturbances on the position and velocity servo systems are some of practical applications of fractional‐order controllers which have been reported in March 2021.
